About the event

Join us at Blue Hill Flora for a 'Cyanotype Botanical Art Workshop'

This workshop will use the Cyanotype process to showcase the incredible detail, diversity and delicacy of different flowers, plants, grasses and everything in between from Blue Hill Flora.

The workshop will be led by Sera Wyn, a Welsh Artist working in Cardiff. Her practice focuses on highlighting the beauty of Welsh nature through old photographic techniques such as cyanotypes and Lumen prints.

This workshop will include:  - Sharing experience and advice on mixing chemicals safely  -applying them to different fabrics, materials and papers  -selecting specimens  -experimenting and ideas  -fixing your cyanotype  -caring for your cyanotype

-Blue hill Flora tour

-picking your flowers to create the Cyanotype

-picking and creating a upcycled tin of your own blooms to take home

-tea and cake

As one of the oldest photographic processes, originally used to trace botanical specimens, this workshop will show you how to make a cyanotype, with plenty of practical information, advice and support to leave you with your own Cyanotype to go with your Floral Jar at the end of the day. The perfect memento of your time on the beautiful Blue Hill Flora Farm
