About the event

Come and learn the basics of seed sowing and pricking out so you can fill your garden with an abundance of flowers in spring.

September is prime Hardy Annual seed sowing time here on the farm. These hardy little plants will grow on and be planted out into your garden needing minimal proteaction if any from the winter weather. All winter they will be growing a super strong root system ready to flower thier socks off in the Spring.

In this workshop we will cover

- Choosing your seeds, the best Hardy Annual varieties to sow in September

- Compost, how to mix your own, things to look out for when buying, the trials of peat free and the best ways to water and feed your seedlings.

-  Sowing, which varieties to sow into trays or cells. How deep to sow and do you cover with compost or do you not cover at all?

- Pricking out, whats the best stage? Tips and tricks on how to prick out. everyone will go home with thier own wooden chopstick which is one of my favourite pricking out tools.

- Planting out, how to, when to and how to keep your young plants in top condition over winter.

- Pinching out, which ones benefit from pinching and why we even pinch at all

You will go home with

- Your own wooden chopstick

- two seed trays of sown seeds

- two cell trays of sown seed

- two cell trays of pricked out seedlings

- two packets of seeds to sow at home

So if you want to perfect your seed sowing so you can fill your garden from just a few packets of seeds every year I would love for you to join me.

There will also be tea and home made cake
