Our Story
Doing our bit to leave things better than when we found them
Hello, I am Rhiannon and I started Blue Hill Flora in 2019 after a career change from the Tv and film industry. I’m a proud member of Flower from the Farm and am also the welsh coordinator.

Perched on the top of a hill just outside of Pontardawe South Wales we grow seasonal cut flowers on about half an acre of land including a polytunnel and two greenhouses. The rest of our 18 acres is a mix of fields cut for hay, woodland and bramble scrub left for the wildlife.
Blue Hill Flora is my way of hopefully helping to leave a positive mark on the planet rather than a negative one.

Headed into my fourth year I’m looking forward to a bumper year full of flowers. I would never have been able to get here without the incredible support from my family and from you.

Our Ethos
Nurturing Mother Nature is at the heart of our business and we actively encourage a diverse range of wildlife across the farm.
- All of our flowers are grown pesticide free using organic principles

- We make nettle and comfrey tea as fertiliser and are exploring Korean natural farming methods to improve our soil fertility.

- All our water is collected rain water

- We have also installed solar panels

- We don’t buy in any compost that uses peat and make as much of our own compost on site as possible as well as having an active worm bin.

- All our dried flowers are dried naturally and are dye and preservative free

- Every year we strive to reduce our plastic use and none of our flowers are sold in plastic.

- A percentage of our yearly profit goes towards improving the habitat on the farm and towards supporting charities championing wild life and protecting endangered species
